Ah, and if you liked the philosophy in Evangelion (like me), watch Serial Experiments Lain. It's 13 episodes long, but incredibly complex. Or Haibane Renmei or Texhnolyze or Infinite Ryvius, they are also awesome and very deep anime.

But trust me, you can actually follow the steps of the photoshop tutorials,
just some names change ^_^

and if you do get it, I can help you find tutorials,
and belmikry one of the moderators uses Paint Shop and has some tutorials here ^_^
